Background

Cahootify has been cleared by the DWP to offer eight roles on the government’s Kickstart Programme. There is a lot of potential crossover in the roles we’re offering so please express interest in the one that is the closest fit. In reality, the way we share work among the “Kickstart Squad” will be a collaborative affair that considers the individual and complementary strengths of each person on the team.

Job Summary

We are looking for an assistant to help with general PR and promotion of our brand. Duties will include assisting the community manager in reaching out to potential “linchpins”, advertising our platform to filmmakers, onboarding users and organising Zoom meetings.

The ideal candidate will already have experience in content management, public relations, and/or communications, such as with an online magazine or company.

Strong communication skills are a must.

The PR Assistant will be:

  • Preparing updates and sharing them via our social media channels (opportunities, events, contests, festival updates, news, orchestrated brand campaigns).
  • Keeping an eye on the quality of the content added by our community and tactfully offering to help when that quality could be improved.
  • Researching relevant industry events and posting them on our event listing page.
  • Researching relevant opportunities and posting them on our opportunity listing page.
  • Developing and suggesting further ideas for PR activity and orchestrated campaigns.
  • Working with the rest of the team to develop collateral for orchestrated campaigns.
  • Writing blog articles targeted at our community (not essential).

Basic Requirements 

  • Experience in PR/content management e.g. social media management, content writing (ideally in industry but it could be for a personal or student project).
  • Confidence to “reach out” to people.
  • Able to work remotely.
  • Skilled in communications.
  • Good spelling and grammar.
  • Good internet connection and access to Zoom for video calls.
