Coin Toss Collective are a company of ‘joyfully chaotic’ theatre-makers and performers. We formed in 2021, when we were all selected to be the twelfth group to take part in Made in Bristol, a year-long theatre-making residency at the Bristol Old Vic theatre. We chose our name in a fluke moment, when one of our members suggested that we decide by tossing a coin! We feel that it reflects our collaborative approach to devising theatre - playful, endlessly curious, unconventional, and open to serendipitous moments that often take our work into unexpected territory. A Coin Toss show typically draws from all of our members’ very diverse theatrical backgrounds and preferences, blending physical theatre, movement, clowning, performance art, projection & multimedia, naturalism and surrealism.

On Sat 20th and Sun 21st May, we will be streaming our recent production of FREAK OUT!, performed at the Network Theatre, Waterloo at VAULT Festival 2023, which was nominated for Show of the Week and funded by National Lottery Project Grants through Arts Council England. A high-energy theatrical cocktail of live art, clowning and characters, our show is inspired by real stories of UK seaside towns threatened by coastal erosion. Book your free ticket here!
