Marla (Short film, 2018)

After falling for the waitress, Marla (Carolina Silva Araújo), in his local café, Jesse (Kambiz Fathollahzadeh-Aghdam) finally plucks up the courage to ask her out only to learn she already has a boyfriend. Unable to accept the rejection Jesse creates the relationship inside his head. Through Point of View camera work, we see the relationship Jesse is imagining up until he bumps into Marla again in real life and Jesse’s invented reality falls apart.
