Background

Cahootify has been cleared by the DWP to offer eight roles on the government’s Kickstart Programme. There is a lot of potential crossover in the roles we’re offering so please express interest in the one that is the closest fit. In reality, the way we share work among the “Kickstart Squad” will be a collaborative affair that considers the individual and complementary strengths of each person on the team.

Job Summary

We are looking for someone to help plan a filmmaking conference we have scheduled for April 2022. The successful applicant will be researching potential guest speakers, musicians and entertainers - and reaching out to them via emails, phone calls and other channels. We would also welcome ideas for topics for guest talks and any other events for the conference. 

The candidate should have some experience in PR, marketing, or a similar department, and should have proof of skills in media communications.

The Event Planner will be:

• Researching potential speakers.
• Reaching out to potential speakers to gauge interest.
• Arranging virtual meetings between potential speakers and the conference producer.
• Helping to schedule the conference.
• Communicating the schedule and other relevant information to confirmed speakers.
• Considering and suggesting topics of interest to our target audience.
• Sourcing and acquiring quotes from potential suppliers (AV, brand collateral)
• Liaising with confirmed suppliers.
• Researching potential sponsors.
• Reaching out to potential sponsors to gauge interest.
• Arranging virtual meetings between potential sponsors and the conference producer.
• Assisting the conference producer in further tasks as assigned.

Basic Requirements

• Previous involvement in the organising of festivals or conferences (ideally in industry but it could be for a personal or student project).
• Able to work remotely.
• Good internet connection and access to Zoom for video calls.
