Cahootify has been cleared by the DWP to offer eight roles on the government’s Kickstart Programme. There is a lot of potential crossover in the roles we’re offering so please express interest in the one that is the closest fit. In reality, the way we share work among the “Kickstart Squad” will be a collaborative affair that considers the individual and complementary strengths of each person on the team.

Job Summary

We are looking for someone to help the Chief Executive reach out to potential partners and associates. Duties will include research and setting appointments with targets that meet a particular brief (e.g. “companies that might like to sponsor a film competition”). 

The ideal candidate will already have experience in a similar role reaching out and setting appointments. If you have the ability and confidence to start also handling appointments yourself then so much the better.

Strong communication skills are a must.

The Business Development Executive will be:

  • Researching potential partner organisations – universities, membership organisations.
  • Reaching out to selected potential partners to gauge their interest in demo sessions and other joint activities.
  • Arranging demo sessions for partners.
  • Researching and reaching out to “linchpins” (producers, casting directors) that may have the kinds of opportunities we want listed on Cahootify.
  • Arranging meetings with linchpins to enrol them into using the platform.
  • Supporting linchpins in listing their opportunities effectively.
  • Reaching out to key VIPs we’d love to have on the platform.
  • Supporting VIPs in building their profiles on Cahootify.
  • Possibly acting as the lead during demo sessions and meetings (after a time).
  • Researching and reaching out to potential sponsors and advertisers.
  • Arranging discussions with potential sponsors and advertisers.

Basic Requirements

  • Experience in a similar business development role finding potential targets and setting appointments (ideally in industry but it could be for a personal or student project).
  • Confidence to “reach out” to people.
  • Able to work remotely.
  • Skilled in communications.
  • Good spelling and grammar.
  • Good internet connection and access to Zoom for video calls.
