A period-horror film, set against a backdrop of blood, war and faith.
I’m Jason Parker, a writer/director, and creator of several award-winning short films and a feature film entitled ‘The Suppression of Hannah Stevenson’, which has recently been licensed for distribution in North America. I’m now looking for a producer that can work with me on a follow-up, and take the project to the next level.
ABOUT THE ROLE
I’m looking for an ambitious producer with experience producing low-budget feature films, who is also keen to progress their career within the industry. Whilst the script has been written, locations scouted and several cast and crew attached, I need a producing partner that can work with me to attract investors and finalise the details of the production; it is important for me that this process is a collaborative one, and so I’m also eager to get a producer’s creative input too.
From a financial and practical standpoint, the project has an estimated budget of £200,000, which includes a set fee for the role of producer. This does mean that payment for your work would be paid in arrears once the film is financed, but I am confident in the film’s commercial appeal and believe that attracting investors will not be an issue.
The film is a self-contained period-horror, with just a passing nod to the classic Hammer films of the 50s and 60s (before Hammer became a pastiche of itself!) It mixes traditional gothic-horror with romantic-drama, appealing to male and female audiences alike. That said, the film also has it’s gruesome moments, featuring scenes that wouldn’t look out-of-place in an episode of Game of Thrones.
I’m keen to get a producing partner onboard as soon as possible, with a target date of November 2022 for principal photography. Therefore, if the project sounds interesting, and you would like to find out more, please get in touch, so that we can arrange a Zoom call to discuss the film in more detail.
