Filmmaking has been one of the fields that has been hit hardest by the pandemic, as the very nature of the job requires fieldwork and traveling, but filmmakers have displayed resilience and innovation by filming using what’s immediately available to them and produced some wonderful pieces of film. This event aims to take a dive into how that was made possible, and to provide direction and inspiration to aspiring filmmakers.
The community at Regent’s University London and its Student Union feels strongly about the ability of good films to not only shape our lives, but also about the sheer importance of the film industry to the global economy. We also believe that our film students will play a pivotal role in influencing, disrupting, and developing the industry in the years ahead.
In this spirit, we are organising “In Conversation with Filmmakers,” an online panel event wherein experts from the filmmaking field will come together to discuss this phase and topic, provide their views, and inform our students of their experiences and opinions. This will be followed by a Q&A session.
